John Legend

Singer, John Legend, promotes his LVE (Legend Vineyard Exclusives) made by Jean-Charles Boisset at Boisset's Raymond Vineyards. The wines are a Napa Valley Red Blend 2014, $50; Napa Chardonnay 2015, $45; and Napa Cabernet Sauvignon 2014, $85.

 

Tony Hawk

Skate boarding champion, Tony Hawk has partnered with winemaker, Jesse Katz, to bottle The Setting Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 Tony Hawk Edition. The proceeds from sales of the wine go to the Tony Hawk Foundation. The foundation builds skate parks around the country for youth recreation.

 

Natalie Coughlin

12 time Olympic swim champion, Natalie Coughlin, won 6 medals in 2008 in Beijing. Now she has partnered with winemaker, Shaina Harding, to make Gaderian Wines in St. Helena, Napa Valley. Chenin Blanc 2017 $28, Pinot Noir 2017 $45. Sold on allocation only.

 

Danica Patrick

Race car driver, Danica Patrick, has owned Somnium Vineyard on Howell Mountain since 2009. Her Cabernet Sauvignon is sold on allocation, $185, and is currently not available.

 

Conor McGregor

Boxer, Conor McGregor has plans to build a brand in the Irish Whisky category. He is in the process of registering Notorious Irish Whisky. The owners of Notorious Irish Beer are fighting the brand registration.

 

Hillary Duff

Actress, Hillary Duff, has teamed with The Callie Collection to launch a line of Central Coast California wines. The Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, and Red Blend are line priced at $13.99.

 

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga is releasing wine named Joanne Trattoria after the name of her father's New York restaurant. There will be a Vino Bianco and a Vino Rosso.

 

Matthew McConaughey

The Butterball Turkey company teamed up with Wild Turkey to give 100,000 pounds of turkeys to families in need in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. The gifts were a double surprise as most of the turkeys were delivered by Wild Turkey spokesman and movie star, Matthew McConaughey.

 

Beyonce'

Beyonce' had her lawyers serve a Cease & Desist Order to Lineup Brewing to stop them from using the name Bieryonce which used the same distinctive lettering that is used by Beyonce' on her concert posters.

 

Brett Ratner

Director, Brett Ratner, who filmed X Men has been producing Hilhaven Lodge Whiskey in partnership with Diageo. Diageo canceled all production after Ratner was accused of sexual misconduct by 11 women. The director was also removed from an upcoming filming of a sequel to Wonder Woman.

Astronauts

Holman Winery in Napa Valley is offering Moon Walker Cabernet Sauvignon 2015. Each bottle has a label that carries the signature of 3 living astronauts that walked on the Moon; Harrison Schmidt, Charlie Duke, and Alan Bean, 750ml $120. If you are looking for the real thing, a hand signed 750ml is $320. Other sizes available. The wine was donated by Holman Winery. Proceeds will go to the Cosmosphere International Science Education Center and Space Museum in Hutchinson, Kansas.

 

Jay Boberg

Former music producer Jay Boberg and Burgundy winemaker Jean-Nicolas Méo have teamed up and released their Domaine Nicolas Jay Pinot Noirs from Oregon. The wines are being marketed in Hong Kong, where they sell for the equivalent of $100 a bottle.

 

 

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga had originally wanted to market Wines under the label Grigio Girls. Last month we reported that the Wines were to be labeled Joanne Trattoria. Now, that is off. The name Trattoria Wines is already trademarked by someone else.

 

Pit Bull

Pit Bull will be opening a cocktail lounge and night club in Miami named Ilov305.

 

Iron Maiden

The British rock group Iron Maiden will be releasing a new Beer named Light Brigade. It is a golden ale with 4.1% ABV. Profits will go to the charity, Help for Heroes, which provides services to men and women that have suffered injuries in the British armed services.

 

Jon Bon Jovi

Singer, Jon Bon Jovi, will release a Rose' Wine later this year. The wine is branded “Diving into Hampton Water.” It was named by his son, Jesse Bongiovi, and made in partnership with winemaker, Gerard Bertrand.

 

Foo Fighters

Rock group, Foo Fighters, is touring Australia. During the tour Foo Fighters Foo Town Beer will be poured at pop-up bars in Melbourne and Sydney.

 

Jimmy Stafford

"Hey all. My name is Jimmy Stafford. I'm in that band Train and I happen to like wine." That's how the Train guitarist introduces the band's new wine, Drops of Jupiter Petite Sirah 2009 $10. The Wine is made in partnership with Concannon Vineyards for the Save Me, San Francisco Wine Co. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Family House, a non-profit that assists families of seriously ill children at San Francisco's Benioff Children's Hospital. ...and starting in February, the New York MTA offered a selection guitarist Jimmy Stafford Wines to commuters who were in the mood for fun. They are available for a $2.75 a glass, or a $121 "unlimited pass" for riders who wish to drink away their commute every day of the month.

 

AC/DC

AC/DC has Wines labeled by Australia's Warburn Estate. The wines, from Barossa, Coonawarra and New Zealand's Marlborough, feature adaptations of classic AC/DC album covers on the labels and are only available in Australia for now. Priced at a little under $20, the line features Back in Black Shiraz, Highway to Hell Cabernet Sauvignon, Hells Bells Sauvignon Blanc and You Shook Me All Night Long Moscato.

Run the Jewels

Hip Hop group Run the Jewels is working with J. Wakefield Brewing in Florida. Panther like a Panther Stout honors the movie Black Panther. The Beer will be infused with coffee beans and will be released on April 12.

Dwayne Wade

Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat launched his wines in China. The plan is to market them in the U.S. later. A Cabernet Sauvignon named Wade and a red blend named Three by Wade are the first two in the line.

 

David Frost

Golfer David Frost has a full line of wines produced in his native South Africa under the David Frost Wines label.

 

Cristie Kerr

LPGA golfer Cristie Kerr is selling Curvature Wines made in partnership with Pride Mountain Vineyards. Sonoma Chardonnay $40 and Napa Cabernet Sauvignon $55.

 

Jon Lester

Chicago Cubs pitcher, Jon Lester, has Longball Cellars Wine. The proceeds of his CabernAce go to Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle. Chardonnay $40.

Danica Patrick

Race car driver, Danica Patrick owns 80 acres in Howell Mountain. Her Somnium Cabernet Sauvignon is in limited release at $180.

 

LA Dodgers manager, Dave Roberts, and retired San Francisco Giants infielder, Rich Aurilla are making Napa Cabs under the Red Stitch label. Napa Cabenet Sauvignon $100 and Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir $55.

 

Wayne Gretsky

Wayne Gretsky sells wine from Wayne Gretsky Estates. Where are the estates? You guess. The wines come from the Niagara Peninsula, Okanagan Valley, and Sonoma County.

 

Andres Iniesta

Andres Iniesta is a pro Spanish soccer player and a winemaker. His Bodega Iniesta makes two lines of wine; Corazon Loco and Finca El Carril.

Actress Hillary Duff has teamed with the Callie Collection to sell a line of Central Coast Wines. First out are Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, and a Red Blend; all at $13.

 

Sammy Hagar and Adam Levine have a new Tequila/Mezcal blend called Santo Puro MezQuila.

 

Former NBA star Amar'e Stoudemire launched a kosher wine in time for this year's Passover. Stoudemire played for the New York Knicks and the Phoenix Suns in his 16 year career. He moved to Israel in 2016 to play for Hapoel Jerusalem and is a part owner of the team. The wines include Red Blends and Cabernet Sauvignon priced from $60 to $245.

 

Boxer, Conor McGregor plans to launch his Irish Whiskey named “Notorious.” The boxer already has a fight on his hands as a brewer claims rights to the name.

 

Hip Hop group Wu-Tang Clan has a Vodka and 3 Liqueurs. Although the group is American, the spirits are only available in Australia.

 

Jay-Z has added a new Champagne to his Armand de Brignac line. The wine dubbed “The Twins” honor the two babies born to him and wife, Beyonce, last June. They are named “Sir” and “Rumi.” Earlier, they had trademarked the name “Blue Ivy” in honor of their daughter. But, they were prevented from using it because someone had prior rights.

 

Rapper, E-40, whose real name is Earl Stevens, will be selling a line of Tequila in addition to the wines he is already selling. The Tequila is called E. Cuarenta which translates as E-40. There will be a Blanco, Reposado, and Anejo.

 

Grammy Award winner, Jeezy, an investor in Avion Tequila and founder, Ken Austin sold the brand to Pernod Ricard.

Actor Ryan Reynolds has purchased an ownership interest in Aviation Gin. The brand is bottled in Portland Oregon by Davos Brands. Reynolds will hold a seat on the board and will be the brand's creative director. He says “Aviation is the best tasting gin in the world. Once I tried it, I knew I wanted to get involved with the company in a big way. If you think all gin tastes the same, you’d be mistaken. Aviation is in a completely different league and I couldn’t be prouder to be a part of the company.”

 

Alan Cumming, star of CBS show Instinct, has opened Cumming's Bar in New York's East Village. Cumming first kindled his interest in the business when Campari sponsored a bar in his dressing room for the show, Cabaret on Broadway for a year.
